About the role
We are looking for a motivated Paralegal / Legal & Company Secretarial Assistant to join our team in a hybrid role that combines legal support with company secretarial responsibilities. In this role, you’ll provide guidance across a range of corporate and commercial matters, ensuring our contracts remain compliant with English law. Alongside this, you’ll support governance and compliance processes, helping to maintain statutory registers and ensuring the business meets all regulatory requirements.
This position will see you working closely with stakeholders across the business, external advisors, and statutory bodies, making strong communication and relationship-building skills essential. You’ll take ownership of drafting and managing contracts, maintaining legal and statutory records, and supporting board preparations. A keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise workload will be key to success in this varied role.
We’re looking for someone with a paralegal qualification or relevant legal experience in a law firm or in-house team, ideally with exposure to company secretarial work. A strong understanding of corporate and contract law is required, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel). In return, you’ll have the chance to develop your skills further, take on meaningful responsibility, and play a vital part in supporting the delivery of our business objectives.
What we are looking for in a candidate…
* Paralegal qualification (or relevant legal experience) gained in a law firm or in-house legal team.
* Experience in company secretarial work (1+ years).
* Strong understanding of English corporate and contract law.
* Ability to establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to prioritise work according to business need.
* High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
* To be organised and efficient, ensuring emails, drafts and agreements are saved and recorded appropriately.
* Show initiative and desire to develop and progress within the role.
* Strong IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
