About the role

 

We’re looking for a Digital Trading Manager to take ownership of the online sales performance across multiple departments, driving growth and elevating the digital customer experience. In this key role, you’ll work collaboratively with Buying, Merchandising, and Digital Marketing teams to deliver ambitious sales targets, optimise performance, and enhance trading strategies. You’ll play a pivotal part in defining and executing trade plans, ensuring every decision contributes to sales success and customer satisfaction.

 

This is a highly commercial and data-driven role, ideal for someone with strong analytical capabilities and experience in financial planning, forecasting, and digital performance management. You’ll lead weekly and monthly trade reviews, interpret data to identify opportunities, and work closely with creative, marketing, and product teams to deliver impactful campaigns, promotions, and product launches. With a focus on continuous improvement, you’ll champion test-and-learn methodologies to refine trading strategies and drive efficiency across teams.

 

As a natural collaborator and leader, you’ll manage and develop a high-performing team, ensuring they are equipped with the tools, insights, and confidence to deliver results. You’ll nurture relationships with key brand partners, negotiating stock, exclusives, and marketing opportunities to maximise visibility and profitability. What we are looking for in a candidate…

 

  • A natural collaborator you’ll sit at the centre of the trade planning for your division, pulling together actions into an effective plan and working with your partner functions to meet challenging deadlines and react positively to changes in priorities.
  • Data driven. Confident in using multiple analytic tools, and you are experienced in creating and running reports, using them to track success.
  • Owns and delivers – recognises when something isn’t working and brings teams together to find a solution, follows a plan through and ensure there is continued improvement
  • Commercially astute. You have a successful track record in the achievement of targets and objectives, with an ability to stay ahead of competitors and deliver excellence. You will have specific experience in financial planning, digital metric forecasting, and building digital business cases.
  • A great communicator. You share information in a clear and concise manner, and are able to influence stakeholders and colleagues where necessary
  • Service and experienced minded. You find solutions to customer challenges, recognising the importance of the digital journey
  • Organised and proactive. With previous digital trading experience, you are skilled at interpreting data and responding to it, finding opportunities to improve sales
